Pazy and French

Pazy was our first
Let me introduce myself. My name is Barbara and I am Paisleys Mom/Owner. I am an artist (oil painter) and I work on location so I was looking for a loyal compainion that I could train to be by my side to comfort and protect me while I work. My husband is a good sport and when I said "I found the perfect dog for us ..a Barbet! Hypoallergenic ,medium size , black wavy hair and a little white heart on her chest. She is nine wks old and ready to come to her new home with us, the only problem is that she is with her breeder in Georgia. " We live in Cape Cod Mass. He said" Lets go get her and off we went! Our Paisley is a wonderful dog..the heart of our family and my closest companion next to my husband that is.
Paisley E'bouriffer (Pazy) at 9wks old....a soft little bundle of joy!
We loved Pazy so much that we had to find her the perfect partner...
We love our Pazy and wanted her to have a playmate and future mate , and I still wanted my male. My girl is definetly a Daddy's girl! I thought I would get on a waiting list for a Barbet pup and that is usually a 2 yr wait:( I contacted a breeder in Canada to just get on her list and she got back to me that she had a male . This was right at the new year..January in Canada..and I was not prepared to get a pup right now..yikes! But then I saw a picture of the precious male pup and knew this was the one and the universe had a bigger plan for me. So I said to my husband.."Guess what I found"? A male barbet! He is ready for us right now! The thing is he is in Niagra Falls Canada!" My husband is a Good Sport! He said," It looks like we are going to Canada", and off we went! This was the best decision ever! Pazy took to Fenchy right away. She treated him like her puppy:) From the first day they have been best friends. Frenchy is my shadow, wherever I am he is . He is a mommy's boy!
This is our Frenchy at 9 wks old..he is jet black and curly coat. Such a sweetheart! His name is Francois but he answers to Frenchy, French Fry, French Man:)

Paisley and French at play

We enjoy our lifestyle with our dogs. We travel to fun places with our Airstream sprinter and spend all of our time together.
Paisley is registered AKC and UKC. Frenchy is registered CKC and UKC. I have decided to compete within the UKC with my Barbets and I am a UKC Breeder. If you visit the United Kennel Club you will find me in the Breeders Showcase as Barbie's Barbets. I believe I am the only Barbet breeder in the USA with the UKC. Why the UKC? The United Kennel Club has high standards equal to the American Kennel Club but one difference is that they require family owners to handle their dogs at competition. They do not allow professional handlers to show the dogs because they feel the importance of a bonded connection between dog and owner. In other words it is more family oriented and less big business. Frenchy is from a long line of Grand Champions with the Canadian Kennel Club. His Great Grandfather, Grandfather and Father were all Grand Champions. We are practicing hard to bring the same title to Frenchy.

All about the Grooming

The Barbet hair is either wavy or curly and is ultra soft..like chinchilla. They need to be brushed regularly to avoid matting and because it is hair and they do not shed the brushing keeps them soft and shiny. Once a month I cut and bath my dogs. I make sure to leave a full mustach and beard and I like to leave the legs wide so they shimmer when they walk. Also I brush their teeth once a week. I started the brushing of hair and teeth when they were pups, so it is all natural to them now.
